Formlabs Starts to Ship Its Professional 3-D Printer
Formlab’s latest addition to the 3D printer race is definitely slicker than Makrbot’s aesthetic. And it claims to output a much higher res object (down to 25 microns), which It should since it uses stereo lithography to shape the liquid plastic resin.
However, they’ve got some serious legal hurdles in the way: 3-D Systems has accused Formlabs of IP infringment. And at around $3300 and its proprietary plastic at $149/liter, it’s no cheap DIYer’s kit. But boy is it a beauty.
The Form 1 from Formlabs targeted at pro applications.
