Building a lunar base with 3D printing
Yet another exciting possible use for 3D printers: building habitable bases on the moon. Partnering with several 3D printing companies, the ESA is testing the feasibility of building lunar structures with regolith — the moon’s surface soil — as the raw, manufacturing material for buildings. Printing the base on site would potentially solve many of the logistical challenges of creating lunar structures.
